2024 African Achievement Awards to Honor Excellence in the African Diaspora

Seattle, Washington – November 12, 2024 — The African Achievement Awards, a distinguished event that celebrates the accomplishments of African leaders, creatives, and innovators, will return in an in-person format on December 15, 2024, for the first time since its virtual adaptation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Launched in 2019, the African Achievement Awards recognizes outstanding achievements in leadership, community service, education, entertainment, fashion, and sports. This year’s highly anticipated ceremony will be held at the Atrium Event Center, located within the Seattle Airport Marriott Hotel (3201 S 176th St, Seattle, WA 98188). Red carpet arrivals are set to commence from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The 2024 awards will honor the invaluable contributions of the African diaspora within the Pacific Northwest, attracting notable leaders, public officials, and cultural icons from across Washington State. Designed to celebrate African heritage while fostering a strong community spirit, the event aligns with upcoming major global events, including the 2025 FIFA World Cup Club Competition and the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which Seattle’s Lumen Field will host. The African Achievement Awards will further amplify Washington State’s position as a tourism hub, promoting SeaTac as an inviting entry point to the region.

In addition to honoring award recipients, guests can look forward to a diverse lineup of entertainment and cultural showcases, featuring traditional African dances, contemporary performances, and exhibitions that spotlight Africa’s vibrant and diverse cultural legacy. This celebratory evening will also provide high-impact networking opportunities, encouraging collaboration and relationship-building within and beyond the African community.
